WILL WAYNE WILLIAMS SPEAK?

Temecula, CA – Time to look in on everyone’s next favorite city council, Lake Elsinore, who have a closer ‘in’ to Riverside conservatives than anyone in T-Town seeing as how they have both been around for a lot longer in this valley as a ‘city’. Earlier in the year Wayne Williams, a person who doesn’t smoke pot, organized a public access meeting concerning dispensary/medical marijuana topics from expert speakers. The entire Lake Elsinore thumbed their collective nose and didn’t show up. Now recent court rulings have put bans in a whole new light. This time, properly organized, Wayne could be more assertive to proclaiming his electoral rights for helping medical marijuana patients by speaking to the agenda.

The city of Lake Elsinore could extend a moratorium on the establishment of medical marijuana outlets. The city council will take up the issue at a hearing tonight. The city will likely extend a moratorium through next year. The existing ban expires next week.

The moratorium prohibits anyone from setting up a shop that grows and sells marijuana. Lake Elsinore's city council enacted it about two years ago after a San Diego-area man tried to open what would have been the Inland city's first medical marijuana grow house and dispensary.

The city has no rules on the books to regulate a marijuana manufacturing facility. It says it needs more time to research the issue. From past performance from this sitting board, this excuse is a bald-faced stonewall lie. The only progress t be made with this board in the case of helping medical marijuana patients is electing a brand new city council. The sooner Wayne Williams and all the other people who live in that jurisdiction realize this awful truth, that the present city council does NOT have it in their self-righteous hearts to be compassionate to people who can only be helped by ingesting cannabis. All those patients have been judged, as the city council will one day be judged, one day.

City officials are also reluctant to lift the moratorium because of conflicting state and federal laws regulating medical pot. But it is OK for people to grow and use medical weed for medicinal purposes in Lake Elsinore if they have a doctor’s prescription. Now the only question is will Wayne Williams and WE The People keep the pressure on Lake Elsinore’s city council by showing up in force, or by showing up period? Tune in tomorrow for, As The Joint Runs.
