MASSIVE PROTEST PLANNED

Temecula, CA – In Egypt all the starry-eyed idealists have now had their collective karmas run over by the Mubarak dogma thugs. Mubarak doesn’t get it but the world does. People just want to be and live free. Life is hard enough with having to work until you’re old and gray before you can enjoy living; that is, if you’re born where you have that chance. Next Tuesday Feb. 8th at 450 Latham in the building part attached to the police station, the city council meeting will be inundated with people who want the freedom to enjoy a state mandated right, medical marijuana under Prop 215/SB 420.

As has been reported in past articles, the city of Hemet has some of the most conservative politicians around, several of which have publically co-signed on AZ1070. If you lived anywhere around Hemet you know that Mexicans/Indians have lived around these parts (Anza, Aguanga, Sage) since forever. Despite this total ‘tea bag’ mindset, a number of MMJ collectives have opened in and around Hemet, and this is all above ground. What was before in the underground is still there, of course. The spot market is flush and very green, so to speak. The two realities of this forthcoming public contest are, people who use weed and want to legally traffic in the plant because of its medical benefits versus people who run the government like a Hosni and think every person who smokes marijuana is a stoner/druggie.

Like the heart of Mubarak that was blind to his own people, the city councils also have their minds closed to even seeing the reports/testimony from local patients/doctors while giving status quo law official lobbyists portfolio. At the next city council meeting on Feb. 8th in Hemet, Eddy Hooper, aka Fast Eddy, is marshalling his troops to jam the meeting, peacefully of course, like the Egyptians are doing to Tahrir Square, to protest what Eddy sees as unfair. In a conversation he had recently with this journalist, Eddy confided that he was caught in a delicate situation.

“I have made sure that everything is legit about my collective (operation). I agree with the city council that they should crack down on the collectives that are operating ‘illegally’ without a business permit. I have gone out to see these places for myself and several have bad locations (close to minor oriented businesses). I see their point on the (fly-by-night) collectives, but I met this one guy and I like him. He has no business plan (like I do) and I would like to help him see that he needs one. (Also) I can’t side against my (fellow) collectives. I just want to pack the place and have everyone speak on this issue.”

So the question before you is this: Shouldn’t a man live free of corrupt cops and what business is it of the government if a man wants to partake of a natural plant, a weed which grows for medical relief, as long as Caesar gets his? I can’t make it to Egypt but Richard Engel is doing a great job of keeping me & Rachel Maddow posted. (If I were Rachel’s girlfriend, I’d be a bit jealous ‘cause I think Rachel might have a little Dick Engel envy.)

However, I hope to make it to Hemet, Lord willing and the creek don’t rise, to see the latest round of wrestling between Dr. Mary Jane Green and the Mubaraks of Hemet. Stay tuned, like Egypt, this is a developing story between freedom and repression. (This story is dedicated to Fast Eddy’s mom, who joined her husband in passing 3 weeks later.)
