PROGRESSIVE AIN’T EXPRESSIVE, IT’S REGRESSIVE Temecula, CA – Once again I find myself in the unenviable middle position of a fight that shouldn’t be my fight but is because I fight for the sick and the kids. Both groups will pretty much believe what you tell them and so I try to watch out for ignorance being spread that appears malicious, self-promoting, or ill-advised. Lately Mary Jane Green has been a focal point for many groups of people, starting with the attack from Buck Ofama. BTW, the So Cali AGs may be on record as initiating the current federal response, but you can bet that word came down of big bucks waiting for the right anti-MMJ proposal via the grapevine. Tis the game of politics and Occupy LA showed me that the movement to occupy marijuana and all the potential benefits of the plant is of prime concern to many. As reported here, the RMLW, or Regulate Marijuana Like Wine, people had a booth at OLA with clipboards handy. The tent was always busy but not everyone in camp signed the sheet, of that I’m sure. The reason I am against it is simple, and obvious to long time readers of mine. Marijuana is not like wine. You can’t make a shirt out of wine. Jack Herer’s initiative is the best one as written but know that there will be challenges to anything that passes concerning marijuana. Look at the history of Prop 215. The RMLW people are the Drug Alliance Policy, a foundation wholly owned by George Soros and reported about here over the years. One glance as Soros’ portfolio and you know this guy isn’t some phone-it-in type. He’s more like Rupert Murdoch, with horns, if that is possible to believe. Already there are those in the medical marijuana field, as know-it-all spokespersons, lining up behind RMLW. That’s too bad because it shows a lack of deep research. George Soros is behind Monsanto, the GMO folks, see Occupy LA stories about John, the pro tennis player and his GMO table. Lately the governors of two medical cannabis states have jointly asked the federal government to reclassify cannabis so it may be legally distributed like other medicines. Governors Christine Gregoire (D) of Washington and Lincoln Chafee (I) of Rhode Island held a press conference November 30 to publicize their bipartisan petition to the Drug Enforcement Administration, which they decided to send after each received threatening letters from federal prosecutors. Govs. Gregoire and Chafee were warned that their states' employees would be at risk for criminal prosecution if they were in any way involved with licensing or regulating the distribution of medical cannabis to qualified patients. As a result, in April, Gov. Gregoire vetoed sections of a bill that would have permitted dispensaries in Washington because of federal threats, and in September, Gov. Chafee suspended implementation of Rhode Island's dispensary licensing law. More knee-jerk reactions from people who think they know what’s up. For all those who think they know the marijuana fight, what is the fallacy in the logic of the two governors? The answer appears at the end of this report. The third case of smoke blowing up the arse, after RMLW and the two gov’ners, has to be an article written by Kevin A. Sabet, the former senior policy advisor to President Obama's drug czar, Gil Kerlikowske. He also advised the Bush and Clinton Administrations on drug policy and holds a doctorate in public policy from Oxford University. He currently is a fellow at the Center for Substance Abuse Solutions at Penn and a policy consultant for the United Nations and NGOs through www.kevinsabet.com. As can be guessed, Mr. Sabet writes an article that expresses the misinformation that rescheduling marijuana would accomplish nothing then concludes using a chemical knockoff is the best approach to the medical marijuana sticky question. His article was written as a response to the two governors petition action thereby showing that he is as clueless as the governors. “We all know that smoked marijuana is not medicine, and it is not based on science. In fact, anyone living with smoked medical marijuana in their state knows that it has turned into a sad joke.” That last quote came from Mr. Sabet and expresses his true sentiment, which is obviously anti-marijuana. If one is of a certain disposition then you can’t expect an objective opinion concerning said disposition. I still can’t make the connection how having a doctorate in public policy makes you an expert in whether pot can help a person medically. However the waving of his degree must have been ample proof for the progressive editors who published his tripe. The true sad joke here is that I am in the middle of all 3 opinions. Some talking heads of the MMJ movement have lined up behind RMLW so I have to speak up there. The governors are wasting their time and the patients’ time because marijuana MUST be rescheduled to be able to lawfully be open to legal study and natural compensation afforded any merchandised goods/services, i.e. ‘sales’. Congress must be made to reschedule, petitioning the DEA was just completed a few months back to no avail, so that avenue is a waste of time. I guess the governors don’t read the Calendar. Sabet’s piece is just a red herring troll piece, which is why the nay-saying of ‘rescheduling’ occurred and then was quickly fluffed away. Now let’s take a look at some real science, the science of history. “Christ” is the Greek translation of the Hebrew “Messiah.” In modern English, this term would be translated as the “anointed one.” The title “Christ” was only placed upon he who had “God’s unction upon him. This holy anointing oil, as described in the original Hebrew version of the recipe in Exodus (30:22-23), contained over six pounds of kaneh-bosem, a substance identified by respected etymologists, linguists, anthropologists, botanists and other researchers as cannabis, extracted into about six quarts of olive oil, along with a variety of other fragrant herbs. The ancient anointed ones were literally drenched in this potent mixture. Although most modern people choose to smoke or eat pot, when its active ingredients are transferred into an oil-based carrier, it can also be absorbed through the skin, which is in fact one big organ. In the Bible’s New Testament, Jesus baptized none of his disciples, as is practiced by the Catholic Church, but instead anointed them with this potent entheogenic oil, sending out the 12 apostles to do the same. “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them” (Mark 6:13). Likewise, after Jesus’ passing, James suggests that anyone of the Christian community who was sick should call to the elders to anoint him with oil in the name of Jesus (James 5:14). It should be understood that in the ancient world, diseases such as epilepsy were attributed to demonic possession, and to cure somebody of such an illness, even with the aid of certain herbs, was the same as exorcism, or miraculously healing them. Interestingly, cannabis has been shown to be effective in the treatment of not only epilepsy, but many of the other ailments that Jesus and the disciples healed people of, such as skin diseases (Matthew 8, 10, 11; Mark 1; Luke 5, 7, 17), eye problems (John 9:6-15), and menstrual problems (Luke 8:43-48). In these days which were forecast to be deceitful, it is a free market on beliefs. I implore anyone who is the least curious about marijuana or hemp, to curl by the fire and read The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer. After that, I suggest finding a medical marijuana patient, the sicker the better, and get the skinny from a horse’s mouth. As I tell people in person, don’t believe what I say, research it yourself. There was a time that I too was living in the dark. Not any more, thank the Lord. (Chris Bennett contributed this story; all emphasis – Ed) |
